Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2015 (H.R. 3134), sponsored by Rep. Diane Black (R-Tn.), would have prohibited any federal funds from going to the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), or any PPFA affiliate, for a period of one year from the date of enactment, except upon certification that no abortions will be performed by these entities (except when necessary to prevent the death of the mother, or in cases or rape or incest).  NRLC strongly supported H.R. 3134. On September 18, 2015, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 3134 by a vote of 241-187, with one House member voting "present."  The bill was supported by 239 Republicans and two Democrats.  It was opposed by three Republicans and 184 Democrats.  House roll call no. 505.  (The Senate companion bill is S. 1836, sponsored by Sen. James Lankford, R-Ok.)
